Supercharger Systems was started in 1990 by alcohol racers Dick Malone and Gerry Korman, who owned a large CNC machine shop in Cleveland, Ohio. KMS Industries Inc — who machined parts for Mr. Gasket — had purchased Cragar supercharger drive components, as well as machining billet Ken Veney heads and manifolds.

Gerry Korman’s revolutionary design — along with the precision machining of the supercharger components — made the supercharger the must-have blower to win races. In 2009, long-time SSI employees Rich Lavelle and TJ Fitch purchased SSI, and they continue to manufacture and service supercharger components.
